2014 Summer Professional Development
Registration Information:
1) Registration is open.
2) Teachers will need to register by using Employee Online. http://home.hcde.org
3) Log-in to Employee Online and click on the Professional Development tab at the top.
4) Click on Browse Courses (on the left side under Participant)
5) Select the course a teacher wants to attend. The course details will appear and at the bottom, a teacher will select “Register” and follow the instructions.
6) Some sessions have a limit on the number of participants. It is very important to cancel the registration if a teacher is not planning to attend the session.
7) For additional assistance navigating the PD portal: on the homepage, click on Instructions for Professional Development below the "Welcome tab"
All future HCDE Professional Development will go through this portal.
June 3 Project Wet - Target audience is math and science teachers in grades k-5 (Ocoee 8:00-4:30)
June 9-12 Best Practices in Mathematics I - Target audience is math teachers in grades k-5 (Hixson Middle School Library 8:30-3:45)
June 16-19 Best Pracices in Science - Target
audience is science teachers in grades k-5 (Hixson Middle School 8:30-3:45)
June 23-26 Best Practices in Mathematics II - Target audience is math teachers in grades k-5 who have taken Best Practices I in the past three years (Teachers Place 8:30-3:45)
July 17 or July 23 District Math Training - Target audience is math teachers in grades k-5 - This session is the same as the August 5th district wide professional development training specific to the grade level. This session replaces the 1.5 day math training on August 5th. (Hixson Middle School 8:30-11:15)
July 17 or July 23 Departmentalized District Math or Science Training - Target audience is departmentalized math or science teachers in grades k-5 - This session is the same as the August 5th departmenatlized professional development training. This session replaces the 1.5 day departmentalized math or science training and the 1.5 day specific grade level training for math on August 5th. (Hixson Middle School July 17th 8:30-11:15 and July 23rd 12:45-3:30)
July 21-22 enVision and Math Framework Training for New Teachers - Target audience is new elementary math teachers or teachers who are new to a grade level. Teachers who attend the complete two day training do not need to attend the 1.5 day math training on August 5th. The teachers who attend the complete two day training do not need to attend July 17th or 23rd. (East Ridge Elementary 8:30-3:30)

2014-2015 Math Support Sessions
During a math support session, teachers can expect to go over the lessons that are coming up on the pacing guide for the next few weeks. Teachers will do math together, play the games, talk about what kids struggle with, and anticipate ways to help reach all students. The support sessions will be held at East Ridge Elementary from 4:30-6:30. Please sign up on Employee Online.
2014-2015 Numeracy Support Teachers
The Numeracy Network will meet at the Teachers' Place from 8:30-3:30. Principals will select one teacher from your school to attend these sessions. It is important that the numeracy support teachers commit to attending all sessions and this teacher is responsible for presenting professional development back at their building.
